That isn’t to say the game couldn’t use at least a couple of features. Wordle runs on iOS and Android beautifully. ![]() The raw simplicity of the game has a draw, wherein it’s extremely easy to sit down and jump in no matter what devices you had or OS you were running. In part, that’s probably what made it so incredibly popular, to begin with. There are no microtransactions, no leaderboards, and no social platform for gaming with friends. Looking back, it’s interesting to see Wordle’s success and how popular the online game has become, especially considering the massive lack of features. Now, however, all of these Wordle stats can sync across devices. Up until this point, your scores and winning streaks were only available on the device you played on. Or you could generate Wordles for two different reading – then let student see if they can match the Wordle to it’s corresponding reading.Over the past few months, the absurdly popular word game – Wordle – has taken the world by storm. Then collect all their reflections into a Wordle.Ĭomparison skills – Give them two different accounts / essays on the same theme / event – let them compare the Wordles generated by each. Post reading – ask them to reflect on the reading based on a prompt (examples – main idea, what you’ve learned, funniest element, etc). Another pre-reading option – give them a Wordle of a non-fiction reading and ask them to use the Wordle to generate a title or headline before they see the real article. Summarizing skills – As a pre-reading exercise – copy/paste text of reading into a Wordle and ask students to predict what the main ideas of the reading will be. After the term has been formally defined, repeat the process and compare to the “pre-dictionary” Wordle. Gather up all the brainstormed words for a Wordle. Defining skills – Before the dictionary comes out, give your students a new vocabulary word and ask them to brainstorm all the word they associate with it. ![]()
